Renowned television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee has been facing nasty comments by the netizens ever since she announced her marriage to her gym trainer Shanawaz Shaikh aka Shonu. Her interfaith marriage hasn’t gone down well with the netizens as they taunted her for getting married outside of her religion and took every opportunity to remind her of the gruesome Shraddha Walker case. She recently took to her social media handle and reacted to The Kerala Story.

Reacting to a tweet by a netizen, where they recalled an incident about their friend and how the movie has opened the eyes of many people, the ex-Bigg Boss contestant too shared her take on the film. Taking to Twitter, she explained how she watched the movie with her husband Shanawaz Shaikh, who is a Muslim. She revealed that he appreciated the movie and didn’t take offence as it wasn’t against his religion. She wrote, “Its not always like that. My husband is a muslim & came with me to watch the movie & he appreciated it. He neither took it as an offence nor he felt it was against his religion. For the unversed, the Sudipto Sen directorial has been in the headlines for quite some time now. The movie starring stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bhihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani has left the audience with mixed reactions. From many politicians demanding a ban on the movie to netizens praising it on social media, the story follows the journey of three women from Kerala, who are brainwashed and forced to convert to Islam and join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Despite facing backlash on the political front, the movie has been doing very well at the box-office.
